About FilamentRadar

FilamentRadar is a 3D printing filament price comparison site focused on Spain and on the European shops that ship there. It was born from a concrete need: existing comparison sites mostly cover the United States or Germany, and for someone printing from Spain what matters is knowing, today, where a kilo of black PETG is cheapest while still arriving within a few days.

Where the prices come from

Every day we automatically read the public filament catalogue of 31 shops (3DJake España, Creality EU, Filament2Print, 3D Prima, Impresoras3D.com, SUNLU Official Store, Polymaker (tienda oficial), Anycubic ES, Elegoo EU, AzureFilm, Servitec3D, XYZfilaments, Tresding, Filamentor, DAS FILAMENT, Prusa Research, 3DWorld, Recreus, Fillamentum, Smart Materials 3D, Eolas Prints, Bambu Lab EU, 3DFils, Sakata 3D, 3Dfilamento.es, QIDI Tech EU, Winkle, Flashforge EU, Mr Resin, Filex3D, Figutech), about 24,591 products in total. We store the price, whether it is in stock, the spool weight, the colour and the direct link to the product. When a price changes we record it, so each product page builds up its history.

We sell nothing, process no payments and take no part in the purchase: the “Go to shop” button takes you to the product page at the shop, which sets the price, shipping and terms. If you see a difference between the price we show and the shop's, the shop's price is the right one; ours is a snapshot of the last day.

How we calculate the price per kilo

We divide the spool price by the net filament weight declared by the shop (not counting the plastic spool). For multi-spool packs we use the total weight of the pack. When the shop does not state the weight, the product is shown without a price per kilo rather than making one up. Material, finish (matte, silk, translucent…) and colour family are inferred from the product title and options, so there may be the odd classification error: if you find one, let us know.

Shipping costs are not included. They vary with the order value and the shop, and shops outside Spain usually have higher free-shipping thresholds: keep that in mind when comparing single spools.

House brands

Some shops sell filament under their own label (Smart Print from Filamentor, Prof. Lab from Filamentor, i3D Tested from Impresoras3D.com, Basic 3D from 3Dfilamento, XYZfilaments from XYZfilaments, Filex3D from Filex3D, 3DWorld from 3DWorld, PrimaCreator from 3D Prima) without declaring who makes it and without independent testing. We include it because it is usually the cheapest and because the decision is yours, but we flag it with the “House brand” tag on every product and you can hide it from the listing options.

How it is funded

FilamentRadar is free and has no advertising. Some shop links are affiliate links: if you buy through them the shop pays us a small commission, at no extra cost to you. That does not change the order of the results, which is always by price, nor which shops we include.
